Day 31 (morning) – I am lonely
I am starting to feel the ending of this trip. I am incredibly sad and lonely with this realization. And I am surprised by these feelings. Rarely have I ever had a long held dream come to be. Reaching Santiago will be that for me. 20 years of thinking about this and it is upon me. I am in this town with no body that I know. All my close connection friends are behind me by a day or two. I’m connecting with some of them via text but none are physically with me. I guess this is another lesson of the Camino. Maybe in my loneliness I am meant to turn to God with my feelings. At the beginning I needed all your encouragement to keep going. Remember when I was broken? Now I need to know you are with me again. In spirit. To celebrate with me this incredible accomplishment. I don’t want to be alone.

I should have commented yesterday at how incredible this journey has been and how i can’t believe that you have done this (at any age!). I wish we were all there to greet you when you hit Santiago with a lovely finish line banner, flowers and a beverage!!!! You will be carrying this experience with you forever and i feel like it will have changed you in ways you didn’t expect. I’m very excited to see you in like 10 days for the family golf outing! Know you are loved!
