Day 3 – I Lost the Camino Trail! – Date 4/17/2025

Okay I can’t believe it but I lost the trail today.  It was near the end of today’s hike which was 13 miles.  I reached a spot that did not really have a Camino Trail sign.  A local was walking by and I ask him which way to the Camino.  He pointed to the way I went but I pointed to another way and said “Not this way?”  He said, “No, this way to Pamplona.”  And he was right I did get to Pamplona but not via the Camino Trail.  I looked at the entrance into Pamplona online from the Camino and I am sorry I missed it.  I might take a taxi to drop me off at the Camino trail coming into Pamplona and walk it tomorrow morning before I start my trek for Day 4.  We shall see. . . it all depends on how I sleep and feel tomorrow morning.  I must admit that I am in need of back and foot massages but my option is taking 2 ibuprofen instead.

I am a bit surprised that I didn’t shed tears losing the Camino Trail.  It sounds more drastic than it was.  I never had this fear as I looked upon this trip.  I just assumed the trail would be clearly marked.  Not good to assume, right?  But I am grateful for my good sense of direction and ability to be resourceful.  There is always a silver lining. . . it just might take an effort to find it.  I usually do this so I am once again grateful for my outlook.

Here’s hoping I sleep well tonight.  Last night I couldn’t get to sleep and thus slept thru my alarm.  I woke up when my neighbor was taking her luggage down to the spot for my luggage pickup.  Now I have two alarms set.  Buen Camino!

Maybe you didn’t really lose the camino trail. Maybe you were being guided to create your own path to walk…and arrive at the same destination but in your own unique way.
Love from your sister 🙂 Buen Camino! 🙂
