Day 30 – Leaving Sarria
Okay I am in the crowds now. It’s not a constant train of people but there are definitely more people at the cafes where you stop to eat or take a bio break. I met this couple today from Wales and they are on their 10 year of taking 1 week vacations to do the Camino. They started in Normandy France (northern section) and came down thru St. Jean Pied de Port which is where I started 4.5 weeks ago. Now they are retired but when they started this journey they were still working. They are about 60 miles away from Santiago. In many of these years, they have flown into Santiago to get to their starting point via train. They have never visited the section of town where the Camino ends as they are waiting for when they enter Santiago on foot. Isn’t that cool. A 10 year commitment.
I had an image today as I wrestled again with my lesson on worthiness. I was a little kid (like 5 y/o) and I crawled into the lap of Papa. He put his arms around me and just let me snuggle in. The feeling is what I feel when I held my babies and Wolfie. It’s such a feeling of comfort and safety. I don’t think we ever outgrow the desire for that feeling. I thought I would conjure up that image repeatedly when I need to feel special or loved.

I just heard this quote, and it resonated with me immediately:
“Of all the things I own, my worth is my favorite possession.”

Buen Camino, Trish!
